My practice based research & compositional work focuses on electroacoustic works (multi channel) that incorporate drone, glitch, minimalism & spectral music processes. Through the use of both hardware and software, I compose through improvisation for source material which is then sequenced and edited. Primarily this is done at a shared studio residency space at the National Concert Hall, Dublin. Below – Performance with Jurgen Simpson & the Temporary Modular Ensemble at Ormston House, Limerick.
As a performer, my motivation is to focus on sound spectra and emerging technologies is that most spectral compositions involve microtonal tuning systems and/or live electronics, with ramifications for notation and performance.
